Swapping power supplies to convert voltage?

Good morning all, early apologies if this is the wrong spot to post this.

I have a Panasonic P65VT60 which I've brought over from Australia and is still working like a champ through a transformer I've picked up. Unfortunately there's a noticeable rhythmic hum driven by vibration that phases in and out every few seconds which tends to kill the mood.

After brief research, I'm guessing that the P and Sub-P boards deliver country independent power to the various parts of the TV which suggests that replacing one or both of these boards with North American parts will convert my TV from 240V only to 120V only. However, while I'm a fairly adventuresome type I'd hate to kill this great set through naivete.

Could someone knowledgeable please chime in and let me know if this plan has some merit or simply won't work?

Many thanks.
