Question TH-50PX60U Plasma TV Prog.Out connection

Yes, I have an 8 year old Panasonic plasma TV which still looks as good as when I bought it. I remember hearing all those bad stories about plasma but the sales guy at CC convinced me to buy it because those bad stories were outdated comments. The sales guy was right.

Now I am trying to use the Prog.Out RCA audio outputs to drive a Bluetooth transmitter that will pair up with my Bluetooth hearing aids. Unfortunately after paying lots of money to a couple of handymen to move the 88 pound TV off its wall mount while I connected the RCA cables, the output is not working. I am checking it out with a converter from RCA to 3.5mm jack and using headphones.

I checked the Panny menu and found that the Prog.Out Stop was OFF so that was the right setting. I called Panny technical support and was told it might be a copyright issue.

I did not connect the S-Video connector. I hope that does not disable the audio output.

I am addressing this forum to get help with this issue. Any ideas other than it is broken?
Thank you in advance.

I saw in the Panasonic manual that the digital inputs are converted to composite NTSC to be output on the Prog.Out connections.

However, there is also the statement about copy protection disabling this feature. I am wondering if the TV set, being 8 years old, implemented a very strict copy protection scheme for all HD content.

Any comments?
