New Loud Buzzing on Kuro 500M

My wonderful Pioneer 50 inch Kuro 500M started making loud buzzing or arcing sounds about a week ago (faint buzzing sounds were never an issue before with this set). I have searched the web and what I have found is that this could be dirty fan, power supply, capacitors, bad soldering causing arcing...

Here are my specifics.
-Noise comes from back-top, middle of TV, which is mounted to the wall.
-Set was calibrated, and no change in Buzz when I switch to the different ISF modes.
-No change in buzz when I switch Power Control mode from Standard, Save 1, or Save 2
-Continues when Receiver off, for an additional 30 seconds timed, and then stops
-Continues when I unplug HDMI while receiver on, but stops in 30 seconds timed
-Stops immediately when TV powered off
-Set is a monitor, and not coming through external speakers.
-No change in picture whatsoever at any point, like color or flicker
-Sound file linked to soundcloud, in addition to the steady buzz, occasionally there is a bug zapper like spark noise in the tone.

I am 6 months past my separately purchased 5 year warranty.

Any thoughts what it may be exactly, recommendations on doing any next troubleshooting or self-repair steps, removing from wall and dust can spray or removing back panel, recommendations on moving towards a professional repair? Anything? Thanks so much! And please ask any questions you have.

do you have the same buzzing just after you power on the tv as you have after 5-10 seconds when the drive mode kicks in?
it almost sounds that the drive mode doesnt kick in here.

are you sure that the picture and the blacks havnt changed?

as for dirty fans
the fans are not running on the kuros unless the temp gets over 80c.

the part were the sound comes from is where the power supply is located
so probably i problem there

i suggest that contact a service center
i dont think you can self repair this

The buzz comes on pretty instant after power on.

I am not too sure. Blacks are still pretty black, but maybe not as predominantly black as they were. Not a notable difference to say the picture has changed. Maybe not as sharp as it was either, but that is just a guess.

I am not sure what drive mode is.

blacklevel goes down after about 5 seconds when it settles down.
on mine i have loader buzzing the first seconds

you can do a test to check if the buzzing changes.
connect the tv to a PC
select 50Hz
on the tv select Pure Cinema Advance and Drive mode 2
that will put the kuro to 100hz.

compare the buzzing to how it sounds with 60hz.

but its still strange that the buzzing hasnt affected the picture.
obviously you have a voltage problem somewhere and it should show its face on the screen.
but the picture is clean all the time with no misfires?

have you tested with a white field?
if not i suggest that you do that

Just put it into Pure Mode 2, 50 hz, and the sound is higher pitch, higher frequency. No misfires with the picture at all. I have been watching like this for a week. I have seen no flicker, color drop, or black outs. I am not sure how to put it into a white field.

Pure mode doesnt matter.
you need to set pure cinema to advance under pro adjust purecinema/film mode
and then in the main menu under Option select drive mode 2

But at startup you do get higher blacks the first seconds right ?

White field is a fullscreen white.
that uses the most power so it should buzz even more there.
get it from the avshd709 test disc (mp4)
AVS HD 709 - Blu-ray & MP4 Calibration
with the white field up check for magenta misfires (probably at the center area)

Confirmed, purecinema (advanced) film mode, mode 2, is higher pitch, higher frequency sound. Same as before.

I played the ISO exactly and there is absolutely no magenta or other glitches, twitches or flickers. SOLID screen. I am stunned too. I have a .mov or zip file recording of it, just cant upload it to this forum as standard file. If your interested in seeing I can send it.

No changes in blacks. I see no irregularities in the picture. The sound from 60 to 100 hz is higher pitch but the same volume. Does not quiet or fix it, just tone change.

the blacks that you get at startup is at LCD LED level
if the blacks dont go down after a few seconds i must say that you have a KRP that is heavily infected by the bad aging algorithms.
every kuro today has that problem more or less.

im not saying that it can be the elevated blacks that does this buzzing but it probably makes it worse.
i have seen before that elevated blacks can introduce buzzing
the panel gets overdriven with higher voltages than needed.
the tv must work harder and the buzzing increases.

What do you think the next step is. Service call or is the plasma just old and time to move on. I dont want to get rid of this Kuro~

Seems to be working fine other than the buzz. And if my blacks would go blacker, great!

1 hour of total work and a cost around 50$ and you will get it back to where it should be with non glowing blacks.
the buzzing will go down but i cant tell if you will get rid of it all.
even if you have a power supply problem you will see that its worth keeping it for and pay for a repair and a power supply exchange.

and no its not time to move on with a bad working KRP-500M
i can tell you that

send PM
this thread will be long otherwise

i made a small video to show the blacklevel that you get at startup.
the i1Display Pro can read down to 0.002Y

0.05Y is the blacks you have now on your KRP if they remains the same after around 10 seconds as you describes.
(Blacklevel for 2015 Samsung UE65JS9000 4K LCD LED 0.043Y )

just a hint where your KRP is at now

i dont know if the buzzing can be heard or not
but the buzzing is alot higher the first seconds before the blacks goes down the basement.

video here:
http://privat.bahnhof.se/wb192876/KR...%20Startup.mp4

Edit:
sound clip here from the startup buzzing
http://privat.bahnhof.se/wb192876/KR...tup%20Buzz.m4a
the buzzing seems to reduce in two steps if you listen.
first after around 4-5 seconds after startup then the next step after around 10 seconds.
