Replace Sony KE-42M1 fan

I know is is an old plasma TV but my brother doesn't want to repalce it and he asked me to take a look at replacing the fan that is making a lot of noise.

This should be an easy repalcement if a generic fan with the correct dimensions can be used. Unfortuantely, I haven't been able to locate the dimensions of the fan so that I can order a replacement. it appears that the same fan is used in Sony KE42M1,Sony KE42XBR900, Sony KE50XBR900, Sony KE50XS910, Sony KLV30XBR900, Sony PDM-5000.

It looks like the official part number on the fan is TUDC12D8S 055 but the original is not available new and I would hae to repalce a bad fan with another old used fan.

Would anyone know what an acceptable repalcement would be? I would opnee up the TV and measure it but I won't be at my brothers until Monday next week and won't be there long enough to have it delivered there after I emasure it.

Take Care all
Ian

Japan Servo is now known as Nidec. Here's the part number breakdown, which might help you find a replacement:

TUDC = fan series @ 60mm square and 25mm thick
12 = 12V
D8 = nonstandard (extra-low speed?)
S = rotor lock sensor

Thanks very much for the info. Now to try and locate a suitable replacement.

I wonder how critical the rotor lock sensor is to the operation of the TV?

Does anyone know of a way to change the wire harness so that the TV believes the fan is running? Maybe that is not necessary.
