My samsung pn51f5300b 2014 model plasma has 2 hdmi ports. Hdmi 2 completely quit working when I plug my chromecast into it, it either says nothing is connected or shows a white/grey fuzzy electric screen glitching. The hdmi 1 port has white dancing dots that eventually go away after I unplug and plug back in and with time. Is there anyway to replace these ports on my own? My tv is no longer under warranty. It has almost 8,000 hours on it if that is relevant.
One thing to check before trying to replace hardware is to make sure that you have the latest firmware (1006.0). This firmware is supposed to improve i/o performance, including HDMI. Several people with B models have reported that this firmware corrected various i/o issues. I have a PN60F5350B that had bad HDMI handshake issues. Updating firmware to 1006.0 completely fixed those issues for me. If you don't already have that firmware on your PN51F5300B you can find it on the Samsung Support page at this link.
For the record: I had HDMI issues with the F8500. They would resolve (shortly) buy unplugging the TV, waiting a few minutes and plugging it back in. It ended up being the main board. The F5300 isn't smart, so it should be cheaper than the $209 part that mine had.
