Pioneer Plasma for Sale question

I saw a posting for a "Pioneer Plasma. Manufactured Nov. 2006. No problems. No way to tell hours used. $450".

What questions should I ask (besides obviously the model number). I know there is technically a way to find hours, but let's just assume I can't...10 years too old?

Any help would be appreciated.

If you're willing to spend $450 or a little less for a used Plasma, a 2006 Pioneer is probably not worth considering (it will only be "720p" and is pre-Kuro). It was a great display in it's day, but the newer Kuro models put the older ones to shame.

There are several newer models of higher-resolution 1080p Panasonic and Samsungs that will outperform it.

What screen size is it? If it's 60 inches, then it might be worth considering, but if it's 50" or 42" i'd be looking at the 2008 Panasonic PZ80U or PZ85U or PZ800U which i see on Craigslist from time to time for under your budget.

The 2012 ST50/GT50/VT50 or better yet the 2013 S60/S64/ST60 are even better but would probably go for more than your budget.

Thanks for the advice guys. Found out after I posted that it was, indeed, a 720p set.

I was never interested at 450 (was thinking like 300), but without 1080p it is basically worth about 50 bucks as mentioned.

I have a 2008 Panasonic Plasma...still works great...but only 50 inches. Was caught napping when the discontinued plasmas, and now am hoping to find a needle in the haystack. 4k LEDs just don't stack up IMHO. OLEDs...maybe...but way too expensive.
