What kind of use does this TV see ? Is it on 12-14 hours a day ?

I believe the TV came out in late-2007 or early-2008 so that's the kind of daily viewing you'd need to get to 40,000 hours in 9 years. If you got the TV later in 2008, you probably have even higher usage.

That's the thing....if someone works and just watches 2-3 hours a day when they get home, then you probably just put on about 1,000 hours a year.

But if you have a stay-at-home spouse or kids or work from home or watch lots of sports at night or on the weekends, you can add on the hours.

When I worked in NYC, I put on 35-40 hours a week. Working from home and job searching the last few years, it's doubled to 80+ hours a week.

Would love to see photo confirmation, I thought that was standard procedure

Either way looks like Pioneer built these Plasmas with reliability in mind.

You have the most hours ever documented on a Plasma! You are the king sir. There was a guy earlier who claimed 70,000 hrs on a Samsung but was never able to prove it.

9 years is 3285 days. 39436 hrs /3285 days = 12.0048 hrs per day. Awesome.

Hi guys, I can't seem to find the Panel Time in the Service Menu in my PS63C7000...
In the SVC menu there is nothing for Panel Time, maybe Australian models don't have this feature?

Yeah indeed. I don't have time for more unfortunately.

I work 40 hours per week
sleep 9 hours per day
workout 3 hours a day, every day
+ I study every now and then.

Before I started working and got into bodybuilding I would spend 10-12 hours of my days, every day playing video games.. But that was on an old 50" Sony HD CRT TV or computer screen ^^ way before the Kuro days.

We visited Dad today and I took a peek at his Plasma's hours.
TV is a Panasonic TH-50PX60U, purchased 2006 and he says it hasn't had any problems, We watched a couple football games and I didn't see any obvious issues, seems to of held up well!

Hours = 25,847 (converted from the HEX number 64F7)

Nec px-50xr5a 8486 Hours

Per the manual:

TOUGH ENOUGH FOR EVEN THE MOST DEMANDING HOUSEHOLDS.
° 60,000 Half-Life provides 20+ years at 8 hours a day viewing before reaching half the original brightness

I've measured and the Brightness hasn't changed yet..

I can't upload picture using the mobile mode (using iphone at the moment...)... But my panny G20 has:

Time 26812:00

My Viera G20 was purchased in April 2010. This set was obviously used by my parents when i'm away. I pretty much stopped using this around December 2015.when i upgraded to 50 incher Elite 101FD and Viera ST60.

My 50" Philips is ON STANDBY right now, because once a friend comes over I hope to get it fixed. It has a loose connection in the back that was diagnosed here at AVS (banging it fixed the problem temporarily but it stopped working).

I may fix it and then have the 50" replace the 42" in my bedroom....so the 50" will then start increasing by a few hundred or a thousand or so hours per year. Probably closer to 300-500 hours but you never know.

When the 50" got sick, I got a 60" Samsung PN5300. It's great...love the extra size, though dimension-wise it's no bigger given the lack of Ambilight and narrower bezel. It's also much thinner.

It's one of the last plasma TV's so that's why I got it. I wasn't sure when my friend would get around to coming over to help me (good bet as it turned out so with plasma disappearing I decided to pounce. Not a Smart TV but the one it replaced wasn't either and I don't really uses those features anyway.

Lots of people had problems with Philips but they worked great for me.
