TH-42PX60U left side 2" screen missing

Hi,

My tv recently had the issue where the left side of the screen has a yellow bar from top to bottom and then about 2" of the screen are also missing on the left side.

1) Is the service manual available for this TV?

2) Does anyone know what specific board may be failing?

Thanks for your help.

Take the back off. Unplug and reset the ribbon cable that is directly under it. Make sure that is goes back in all the way. Might work.

Hi,

I disassembled rear cover, removed two screws to ribbon cable and re-seated. Unfortunately not a quick fix.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks

FYI

I removed the cable again and powered up TV; doesn't quite match the symptom when the cable is connected, for example there is the "yellow" vertical line and about 2" of black (picture missing). When the cable is disconnected there are at least 3" of white.

Could it be a specific board?

The service manual might help; any suggestions on how to get a copy?

Thanks

I updated the following with an sdcard:

micro program & eeprom
firmware

I ran the self test and everything shows "OK" even though the issue still exists.

Issue(s)
1) yellow line on very left side of screen
2) approximately 2" of left side of screen are black

Since the quick fix didn't work I suggest starting a thread over here.

I hate to just throw ideas out but C boards are responsible for vertical issues. Or could be A board has an issue.
