PN60F5500 worth repairing

Hi everyone.

My Samsung PN60F5500 that is about 3 years old need repair, again...

Last year I replaced the main board because 2 of the 3 hdmi were dead. The used board I find online had only 2 out of 3 hdmi working, better but still not 100% functionnal...

Now my TV have sometimes troubles powering up. Standby DEL flash a few times then tv reset. Every few power on, it will reset 4-5 times before the smart logo. I know this is a well known issue with samsung Plasma sets. I can order the power supply + y board for about 200$ (used / salvaged).

I am able to change the boards by myself but I feel it’s a waste of time since it new board will probably like 2 years... what do you think? Should I just throw a 3 years old TV?

Thank you!

Etienne

Tough call. I'm not sure what I'd do if I were in your situation. I'd hate to have to keep putting bandaids on my PN60F5350, which thankfully continues to perform flawlessly. On the other hand current model TVs that come close to plasma-like performance are still pretty pricey. I'd at least be tempted to try one more repair while waiting for plasma-like TVs to continue to come down in price.
