I, too, have the Panasonic th-42pd25 with the dreaded issues as the rest of these posts. Hoping to resurrect it from the "not working correctly" as the others. Hoping to renting the eeprom for repair!

I was googling the jig, check this out. http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-TNPX25JIG-Jig-Eprom-Copy/dp/B00AK4Q3HA

Looks easy enough to make, although you still need the eeprom from someone. Any information on this, I'll make my own.

Does anyone know if replacing the DG board that has the newer firmware would remedy the issue. You can get them pretty cheap these days.

I'll track down my jig this weekend. PMs will be treated on a first come first serve basis. Due to the lack of availability for these, I will be asking for a pretty high deposit. FYI.

No longer for rent, jig now has bad eprom data on it.

Back in Business! Thanks to one of the jig renters suggestion of re-flashing the data from my working TV to the jig (Thanks Gene!) , the jig is working again.

PM for details.

On the subject of circuit board failure.....I have a 2006 Philips 9631, similar construction to the Panny TH models of a few years ago (it's a 720p, not a high-end).

Lately, mostly upon startup (but other times as well, though mostly at start-up), the Top 1/3rd of the screen either goes wavy staticky lines (like TV's of old before you straightened out the Rabbit Ears ) or goes completely black. It usually fixes within a few seconds/minute-or-so.

I'm sure something is going; in the past, these TV's had the capacitors involved with ON/OFF go at about 7,000 hours.

Any ideas what might be causing the 'black-out' problem ? I thought the Panny's had a similar problem 4-5 years ago, hence my posting here.
