All,
Just bought my Panasonic 42px600u and I need your help in buying the accessories to go with it. The existing equipment is -

Television: Panasonic 42px600u
Home Theater: Bose Lifestyle 800 series
DVD: JVC XV-421 and DeSay DS-5701

I assume that these peripherals are pretty old, but with this configuration, what hardware/accessories/cables would you recommend for an optimal experience?

What surge protector should I consider? Will HDMI/Composite/Component work with these peripherals?

I do not have Cable/Direct TV yet but lets assume I go HD soon.

Thanks for your help!!!

Look at Monster Cable surge protectors, for a start. They are a little pricey but seem pretty solid. I am getting an HTS 3500 mk II.
For an optimal experience, first find out whether your DVD player is a progressive scan or not, if not you will want to update that so it will give you the best quality video.

Thanks, will check out monster. My DVD is progressive scan. I assume I will need to go with composite cables for now.
