I'm looking at a 50" Panny plasma through Continental's One Pass merchandise program but it doesnt' state which model it is. The text is only :

"Watch your favorite shows come to life with this 50†HD plasma television. Features built-in ATSC/QAM/NTSC tuners, a 16:9 aspect ratio, and 1366 x 768 pixel resolution. It is also equipped with HDMI™ (High Definition Multimedia Interface) connectivity, CableCARD™ compatibility, and a 3000:1 contrast ratio. Remote control and pedestal stand included.

Dimensions: 49-31/64†W x 32-3/64†H x 3-51/64†D (with stand)
Weight: 99.21-lbs. (with stand)

(03-1060) "

Any ideas?

I think its the TH-50PX600U since that's the only 50" Panasonic in the current lineup that is cable card ready.

I looked at the panny specs on the 60U and the 600U and the lack of an SD slot and the diff contrast ratio don't make any sense. I did find out that you can e-mail the onepass program and they will give you the model number. If this is the 600U then its a screaming deal as its at least $500 below any price that I've seen on it. But, in looking at the specs, I'm betting its the previous generation and does not actually have the cablecard tuner.

With a description as general as this, I'd recommend you stop considering this web site during your evaluation. Just begin with this Forum's sponsors and if desired, branch out from there.

they may not be the best at describing the product. but they have some great deals, like the new toshiba hd a1 hd dvd player for about $365.
they are not scammers like some of the bait and switch too good to be true a/v guys out of ny.

But you do need to email or call them and find out which exact model/product it is for sure, so no confusion or problems.

i need to check into flying Continental with deals this good on great items.

Agree w/ Bruzzi, the 3k:1 contrast is the 8th gen consumer model.

But, I would contact them as they may only (with luck) have the NEW series 9 model available.

They do have what matches the specs of the 50PX60U but its price is no better than the Frys/Outpost price on the TV.
