I know with the old tube televisions this wasnt possible but Ive been wondering about Plasmas. Can 3D movies be broadcast on a plasma?

Most plasmas should be able to broadcast 3D movies. I bought an Toshiba LCD last month and the picture is very 3Dish. Some of the channels do look a little like 2D but it might be better on the plasma. Just check the specs to see if it displays 3D or 2D images.
