My Eliite 1130 display just started periodically turning itself off. I just wait a few seconds, turn it back on & it's fine. I'm still inside the 2 year warranty period (plus I have the 3rd year from my credit card).

I called Pioneer & the guy I spoke with sounded like he had not really heard of this problem before. He entered the info into the system so that I have a record of the problem.

Has anyone else had this problem? I tried searching but could not find anything.

I haven't really noticed. Are you talking about on the monitor or the media box?

If so, what does that indicate?

I have a 5070 and it shut itself off several times until I disabled the TV Guide function by setting the zip code to all zeros. The blue power on light would flash an error code but it would power right back up when I turned it back on. Once I turned TV Guide off, no more problem.

I have a 1540. There is a power function that automatically turrns off the panel if no tv function is detected for 3 hours. I almost never use any tv functions since I have a cable box and control the volume through an external av system. Remember, if you change channels using a cable box, that is not a direct tv function. So the panel thinks no one is watching and eventually turns off. You can disable this function in the menu sectioin. Thanks. Ned.

IcemanD & ngerstman-

Thanks very much. I set my TV Guide to all zeros. It was just a series of dashes & I never use it, so I assumed it was already off. I have never heard of the 3 hour shut-off function, but that makes sense. I also typically control my set externally through a Moxi DVR & my receiver.

Hopefully, one of these 2 items was the cause of the shut-off.
