It is not uncommon to find that different stations (and even same station with different shows) vary from the so called standards that you would expect them to follow.
I personally own a Pioneer 6070 and find that setting color intensity (saturation) to a lower value provides a better overall picture. Generally, I don't notice slight undersaturation nearly as much as oversaturation as in the ruddy complexions that is being discussed here. Also, it would be a good idea to try to calibrate the image using the DVE HD if you have it. That is a good starting point, but keep in mind that its ok to vary the settings if that improves the picture.
Later this morning, my girlfriend's 42PX75U is scheduled to be delivered. I'm here house sitting waiting for the delivery guys. Very eager to get my mits on the remote and see what I can do in the user menu.
