5010 review on Sound and Vision - they state the unit has a buzzing sound

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cut from Vision and Sound review:

Full Review:

http://www.soundandvisionmag.com/hdt...asma-hdtv.html

One additional thing that requires mention, however, is a faint but audible buzz that the TV emitted an annoying issue that some buyers have complained about in online forums. The buzz seemed to increase in brighter scenes, although in most cases it was all but drowned out by the soundtrack.

Have any of you run into this buzzing as this would be a HUGE turn-off on this model..........

I am leaning toward this model.

Can the owners of this set also let me know any issues you are seeing with this unit (also the pro's of it)..

Thanks in advance..

Why have you chosen to post this question in a non-related picture thread? There are at least a few other more general subject related Pioneer Kuro threads in which it would be better to post your question to. The owners thread, for one. There you will find some posts in which people are either asking or complaining about the same issue. Or, maybe start a new thread and make a poll, i.e.., yes, buzzing and I can't take it; yes, buzzing but I barely notice it; no, no buzzing at all; etc, and so forth, to get a bead on how prevalent the problem may be.

There may even already be a thread dedicated to this subject. just get the hell otta here!

Mourning the disappearing usage of the -ly suffix. Words being cut-off before they've had a chance to fully form, left incomplete, with their shoelaces untied and their zippers undone. If I quote your post (or post in your thread) without comment, please check your zipper.

Thought I would give it a go.

Gotta love the Kuro's. Some shots from Fios Broadcasts as well as a DVD of Pitch Black (kind of fitting considering the Kuro's capabilities).

Note to anyone that is considering one of the Kuro displays. The pictures do not show the full capability of the display in some of my shots The shadow detail seems a little crushed but in real life the detail is there.
The screen shots of "Pitch Black" on the Pro-150 showed details I never saw before.

How does one get a picture that you want displayed in your post to actually display instead of being in the form of a link?

I am going to DNice's place and swapping his Kuro for a Samsung.

hey, anyone have a 4280 and can detail revealing pictures as well as some of the photogs on this thread? (ideally, someone who owns the 4280 and one of the bigger higher resolution models....then again not many people do )

Josh

Missed that one myself ...so edited.

I'm also assuming that he was asking about full size photos and already new about "manage attachments", to upload a thumbnail from his PC.

Amen, so now I need to find a way to dump my old 4:30 ent center and buy a new throne for the 110FD.

BTW, if anyone is in the market for one of these Kuros, go to Axxios. Very helpful and informative. That's where I will be placing my order.

Anyone have any ideas for a console that will hold your components AND relatively small front channel speakers?

Cheers!

I'm more like jose. My wife always kids me that I won't open something new unless the temp, humidity, angle of the sun, etc. , are all just right.
UPS hands her a package and it's kitchen knife, opening on the table, right away time.

Jose, Congratulations it sure looks good out of the Box. One suggestion: Take a Flashlight and look from different angles and see if you can see any spider web crack in the screen, and then go around the bezel edge and see if all looks good there. Just as a precautionary measure before you 24hrs are up. It sure looks good from here. I don't dare tell you to turn it on and see if it powers up, Do I.

Glenee,

Thanks for the suggestions. No cracks or imperfections of any kind from any angle. Was able to plug in the power cord before but I could not reach the main power switch on the bottom. I'd have to lift it up and I'm resisting the temptation cause I'm by myself. I did hear it power on, though.

Glenee,

Thanks. Looks like I got lucky with mine also.

Couple of question about the break-in dvd.
I downloaded and burned it but when I play it on my 95FD, it seems the whole video/chapter runs about 2 seconds. What gives? I don't burn much dvds so I was wondering what I did wrong.

When breaking-in with dvd, does panel have to be on dvd video input? Seems like a dumb question?

Thanks,
Jose.
