Why did you go with the Elite Kuro 720p when you could have gotten the Kuro 1080p?

gubarenko - Nice pics - nice panel ... one question - how are those shelves mounted or supported. I've been looking into doing something like that myself and haven't figured out how to get that nice clean look.

Nice PQ, but anyone notice those swirling yellow and blue-ish lines in that sand pic and the one with the building? Probably a lot less noticeable or none at all in person though..

Thats a function of the camera and not the display.

I got the Pioneer 150 delivered Friday. I'm still breaking-in the plasma. I'm using D-nice setting atm for cable cards (have a Tivo3 with cablecards). My impression so far with this plasma coming from a seven year old CRT (34XBR800) can be summed up in one word.... WOW! . Here are a few pics (sorry im not the best photographer) with a couple from standard def. channels included.

My setup atm:

"Six Shooter" from Sundance Channel (STD):

"Star Trek The Next Generation from Spike TV (STD):

Pirate of the Caribbean playing thru PS3 (Blu-ray)

"Reservoir Dogs" DVD from HTPC:

"Ninja Gaiden:Sigma" PS3 :

isn't that XBR model one of the most commonly name-checked CRTs which the video dinosaurs like to espouse when claiming that they'll stick with their trusty ol' CRT because no flat panel can even come close?

Some pics from my set up.

You want CRT blacks? My old tv was a RCA 38310 38" CRT, it really was a great tv. This pic is from a Baby Einstein dvd

Same DVD on my 5010

PS3 Blueray Meet the Robinsons. The texture of the seatback is amazing, pic doesn't do it justice

The Diva in Fifth Element, coming out of the screen. Blueray

Another still from Fifth Element only in full daylight in a very bright room. Very acceptable for me, bright with little glare.

Is it possible for you to give me the name of an ISF CALIBRATION EXPERT?

My 150FD is currently residing in the Mid-Hudson River Valley, in New York

about 60mi. North of the City line. So I'm not expecting to see any city-tech

here. But they must be around somewhere nearby. It's not the sticks up here

anymore!

The KURO would like to be goosed, hopefully by someone connected to this forum

so it then would know that it is being handled by someone who cares to do

it right!

A PM would be just fine with me, the KURO in question is agreeing with me!

Damn things take on a life of their own, given half a chance huh?

Aside from the light nature of the post, I am quite seriously asking for your

input in this regard. I'm also using the DVDO vp50, which I guess will need it's

own little tweek as well.

Thanking you in advance for any possible input you have.

With All Due Respect
Marc (bro)

....Will eagarlly await your reply :-)

TURN IT UP!

jeff meier, accucalhd.com i think he is on tour in california right now, just check his site for his next tour date near you and get in early before it closes if you want one of the best isf techs in the country to get your Pro150FD tuned up. An avs member with a 6010FD just mentioned getting an a/v calibration from jeff yestrerday and was very happy with the overall results.

a couple other good isf techs out of new york are eliab and david miller, or check the calibration forums for good references.

If anyone sees this post and has a 6010, would you mind taking a picture of the tv without the bottom speaker attached so I can see what it looks like? Or perhaps someone knows of where a picture like this is posted?
