There are a few owners who mentioned D-Nice was able to get their mll down to 0.0003 to 0.0001. I have a january 2009 build so maby mine can get that low. Have no plans for D-Nice to calibrate my TV anytime soon unfortunately.
I set RSTP to 1 and lowered S1/S3/S4 by 15 ticks (as I would see artifacts on anything past that). My meter (i1D3) measured it at .001 prior to the tweak. Post tweak, black level was unreadable.

Since my meter cant read anything lower than .001, I use the gray scale window patterns on the AVSHD709 disc so my eyes can do the black level "measurement". When tweaked, my 141fd is equal or close to 500M with stock voltages, so one could infer that the tweaked 141fd's black level is around .0005.

where are those dirty low apl scenes at the photos?
you should see the black blocks and 16 colors mode with noise near black on the OLEDs instead
if you look at the OLEDs up close on a low apl scene you will have nightmares.

this KRP is clean in every scene as i already have told you 100 times.
if a scene has noise in it its from the production like the scenes below.

here is an extreme low apl scene from Captain America TWS
same settings and same focus on the camera.

i think it says it all

i also think its time to use the ignore function
this will go on forever.
Finally got a chance to upload the Pioneer Kuro Summer 2008 demo. This is the one that contains material for testing black rain/lag. In your case, you're better off not watching it as you will not like what you see.

this is how a Kuro really looks like
the picture is only halfway done

but lucky us our eyes are to slow to see when the Kuro is building up the image.
this is the final result that we see.

It has what looks like moire patterns and red and blue lines all over the picture. That's the worst picture you've taken. Yes i'm talking about the second one.

yes i was not planning to take a picture just a picture with fast exposure time to spot the dithering, and if i could see any difference from 8bit output to 12bit output from windows.
its hard to tell if there are any.
i cant see any change from 8bit to 12bit in the pictures.

madvr that im using is also outputting 10bit now.
a slight cleaner picture than before maybe but only shown in motion.

Oh. Didn't mean to sound so blunt. I figured you were teasing makaveddie or something anyway.

brighter as in more heat reduced lifespan and higher power usage?
if so bump up ABL to 200

you can ask ConnecTedd how his 60" kuro looks now with ABL at 200 and if its worth it or not.

I sit about 6.5ft away from a LX5090 and don't see any dither noise in the picture. About 4ft away I can see fine dither. It's nothing like the coarse dither I have seen on other plasmas like the Samsung F8500 or the Panasonic VT60 in high luminance mode.

Yeah, dither on a Kuro, as noticed by the above Kuro owner

The only dither on Panny is caused by using the High panel brightness setting, which is totally unnecessary. Any decent calibrator can get a decent daytime setting on the Mid setting. Unless of course you like LED brightness levels, in which case get an LED.
