Any Elite owner finally throw in the towel and get the G6 OLED? The G6 is only 10% better than a 141 Elite

I'm considering the B series. Supports both HDR standards and is not curved. From what I know, the main differences between it and the G series are aesthetics and 3D capability and those two are far down my priorities list.

Have to see it in person first and see how much better it is from current models. But honestly either way, no. I gave my reasons already. Call it being spoiled, nitpicking, whatever. I would be buying it just because It's "new" and everyone else is doing it if bought an OLED this year.

Yeah I'm still going to wait for the reviews, calibration reports and user experiences before seriously considering it. If it has any of the flaws and calibration issues that plague current OLED models or if the motion and look doesn't have that plasma feel to it, I'll pass (although I'll be more forgiving of the latter if the former is corrected fully).

If all its issues are eliminated that would something to get me interested. For motion i doubt it since they're still using the same thing LCD's use. The plasma feel i don't think can be replicated as long as it's using WOLED. Or so it's believed.

Will OLED ever do everything naturally like a plasma? In it's current form it's a plasma at heart (self illuminating) with LCD tendencies (bad motion and having to turn on a setting to make it better. Color filters....). This is why i so desperately want Sony and Samsung to start making OLEDs. And Panasonic to come up with something on their own instead relying on LG's panels. We need advancements from other manufacturers like how we saw with LCD and plasmas. Like it's always been.

I've got a Kuro 151 and thinking about the LG OLED. Prices are still a bit dear but they sure look nice.

The now discontinued Samsung OLED did not use a WOLED panel. Somelogin (not sure if you remember him) purchased it and raves about it. He owns two Kuros, owned and eventually sold an LG OLED, and the Sammy is his panel of choice.

Yeah it was a RGB panel. People who owned them says it gave a plasma look. Bestbuy in Manhattan still had one on display as of last year and from what i've seen it had a smoother look than the LG. Don't know if it's still there.

Too bad it's curved. Newegg had a refurbished one. I told login about it and he snatched it up. Not too fond of the curve myself so I passed.

Personally, I'd rather deal with some LCD characteristics than the curve, so the B series has piqued my interest.

Plugging in someone else's ISF settings on a different TV is useless. If you have access to the ISF modes, I suggest you calibrate them yourself or hire someone who will. Otherwise, use Pure mode.

If you insist on using someone else's settings, D-Nice's ISF settings are the most popular on this site. Your set is equivalent to the US 111fd, so refer to the settings on posts 4 and 5.

It certainly has my friend and I hope you get many more years out of it. It makes you wonder where pioneer would've been today if they would have stayed in the TV business.it was a sad day when they stop making the Kuro
