As some others have mentioned, over and over again, I also thought that this display lacked a little of the pop that other plasma displays have. So I thought I would take this was a good excuse to exchange for the pz700u, but alas, the wife didn't see it from my perspective. Her reasoning...
1. the pz700u is more expensive currently.
2. She prefers to print out digital photos on matte paper, because she says the matte photos look better and more realistic/professional than the glossy printouts you get from kodak. And I can't say that I disagree with her there. She has likened the pz77u vs pz700u to that. Although the extra pop may be unrealistic, I still would like to have my plasma be better than real life.
Long story short, I have been overruled. But, I guess I should still be happy that she "allowed" me to buy the new tv anyways...being as 3 years ago we purchased a 36" sony triniton crt hdtv which is still an awesome tv, but now is a 300lb paperweight since we will rarely use it. Anyone interested??
