Years ago I drank the cool aid and believed more money meant better performance. So far Monter Cable has replaced three sets of three each M1000HD HDMI Ultimate High Speed with Ethernet HDMI cables due to easily seen manufacturing flaws. All flaws were found we're the cable connects to the HDMI plug. Flaws were verified by Monster. When one of the three would go bad I always sent the whole set back. At $150 a cable such faults are unacceptable.

When the last one went bad I purchased all new Monoprice Premium HS HDMI's. Now that I'be got three new Monster M1000HD HDMI Ultimate High Speed's stored away. Looks like the can't sell them on eBay for any price.

Any ideas for you lot?

Suggestions, comments and even jokes welcomed.

I don't have a good joke (right now), however if the flaws are always in the plug area, why not purchase (from Monoprice, I believe) some of the HDMI socket savers? Take the pressure off of the connection areas of the Monster cables. And, then, just to "enhance" the look wrap the Monster cable connectors in duct tape to prevent any future damage. OK, I did have half a joke in me (just the part about enhancing the look).

Oh my gosh, a big sticker on the HDMI's package states "New from Monster Cable - Ultra High Tensil Strength HDMI Input Preservation Adapters. Includes HDMI Plug Re-enforcement Wrap." Package of 2, MSRP $74.99.
