Forgive me for being a noob, but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for in the threads.

Its a very simple set up question: I have a DirecTV box and PS3. I have 2 HD TVs next to each other. I want a powered HDMI splitter that can send the PS3 to either/both TVs, and DirecTV to either/both TVs. So at any given time, I want to be able to move a picture to both TVs or back and forth.

The splitters I've found seem to only send input to both TVs at once, not either. Do I need 2 different splitters, or is there one splitter that will suffice?

you would need two splitters

or... a single device called a 2x2 HDMI matrix switch: the matrix switch allows you to direct either input to either output in any combination

Check under HDMI Matrix.

Also Monoprice and a few other vendors have HDMI matrix switchers.
