no video output via HDMI...

Hi everyone!
i was told by a friend that this community is pretty good with helping solve problems so i though i'd give it a go

I was wondering if you could help me out...
i've got a problem with my hdmi output from my laptop to my TV. for some reason i am unable to get video output but i still get audio output.
I have recently needed to restore the laptop to factory settings using the manufacturers ghost image and since then it hasn't worked. i've re-downloaded all the drivers and installed them trying to find some kind of fix but no luck

I know it does work since i've been using the same laptop and hdmi cable for a while now.

if anyone has any ideas on how this could be fixed they would be much appreciated

what hardware?
what does "screen resolution" say?
you should have a function key somewhere button left.

this with a F key should change settings like that i think it is function + f6.

I believe its running through my intel HD 4000
I press F4 and change the mode to either duplicate or projector only but i only get sound, no video.
the tv is still detecting the signal as it doesn't say otherwise and it still outputs sound
Screen Resolution=1960x1280
Refresh Rate= 58i

‘Screen Resolution=1960x1280

Refresh Rate= 58i’ – no wonder it’s not working

Many TV’s will only work with HDTV format signals1280x720@60, 1920x1080@60 – some will also support a limited range of ‘PC’format signals WXGA, XGA etc. (again usually only at a limited frequency range).

Look in the User Manual for your TV – there will be atable outlining what signals the HDMI port supports and you will need to setthe HDMI Out on the Laptop accordingly.
