Would it really be that difficult to maintain HDCP handshakes with unselected inputs?

I can't be the only annoyed by how long things take to switch inputs nowadays. Those lame ass "no signal" screens you get on the TV for a few seconds when you switch inputs on the receiver, etc. Would it really be that hard for TVs and receivers to maintain HDMI/HDCP handshakes with ALL devices that are powered on instead of just the ones that are currently selected?

Not impossible - definitely more cost on a lot of devices.
