HDMI Licensing, LLC actively works to make sure that cables meet the HDMI technical requirements, and that these requirements are correct. The vast majority of cables are compliant, and we have not seen a compliant cable cause an interoperability problem. But we want to make sure that every consumer has a good experience, and we would like your help in gathering data. For consumers who are able to identify that their HDMI cable was the likely cause of video/audio noise issues (e.g. where replacement of an HDMI cable with another HDMI cable corrected the problem), HDMI Licensing LLC is interested in obtaining your cable for testing, development, and compliance analysis purposes. We would like to make a limited offer to replace your cable with a comparable HDMI cable that has been Simplay HD verified (i.e. tested to 1080p). In instances where our replacement cable exchange is not comparable, we may be willing to purchase your cable at a reasonable replacement cost (ideally would be negotiated based on the purchase price on your sales receipt). The minimum conditions for this limited offer are (but not limited to):

- offer currently available only to US residents (due to constraints of the shipping process)
- cable must not be physically damaged
- you must describe detailed record of steps taken to verify that cable was likely source of noise (ex. replacing with another brand cable of same length resolved noise issues. We're less interested in cases where replacing with a shorter length cable resolved the issue)
- you must provide us with the names and model numbers of the cable and all equipment, and the date purchased (at least a good approximation)

Any interested parties should send an email to: cableswap@hdmi.org. We will then discuss whether your cable is of interest, and negotiate the terms for the exchange. Please note that we will be fairly selective on the type of cables that we accept, so please set your expectations accordingly.

Limitations/Legal Stuff: This is a limited offer, and we reserve the right to cancel or modify this offer at any time, and to accept or reject any or all cables at any time, without notice, obligation or liability to anyone. HDMI Licensing, LLC makes no warranties, and shall have no liability of any kind with respect to this offer or any cables provided hereunder.
