Does anyone know if there's a reasonable cost adapter to go from HDMI to HDMI + SPDIF (Toslink or Coax) out. I found the following http://www.octavainc.com/HDMI%20dist...02%20port.html but I don't feel like paying $200 for it.

I've got a 9yr old Denon AVR3300 receiver (3 optical, 1 coax digital inputs) and a 4 port HDMI switch (TV just has one HDMI in and now digital audio out) And the wife isn't going to let me spend $1000+ on a comparable (can get an AVR3808ci for $1000) (from an audio stand point) receiver to replace it. And I'm up to 5 digital audio inputs (2 DVRs, HD-DVD, Sony PS3 (BR player), and my HTPC)

I'm considering just using a passive Optical switch to switch between the HD-DV and PS3's for optical since they will not be daily use items, but if I can simplify things for my wife (i.e. Everything but HTPC as one input from the receiver standpoint and just use the 4 port HDMI switch as the DVR, DVD, PS3 selector) that would make everyone happy.

I'm interested in something like this as well.

I currently have 3 devices, and will probably be adding a 4th soon, which can pass HDMI output.

My receiver is a Panasonic XR57. My display is a Panasonic 9 series commercial with an HDMI blade.

To get specific, I don't want to pass video signals through my receiver to my display. I prefer to send all video signals directly to the display, and all audio signals directly to the receiver. I don't intend on upgrading to 6.1 or 7.1, 5.1 sound is enough for me.

Any other suggestions would be much appreciated.

That looks promising, I'd certainly like to hear from some actual users, if there are any.
