Yeah, I wouldn't mind it either. Though in reality, I really don't see any huge deal with 2.0.

When those features were already standard with HD DVD I didn't really care, now it seems I care less with 2.0.

I just pop a movie in, watch it, then back to its case.

Until this thread... I never really noticed there isn't a USB port on the Samsung. I guess I was thinking about my HD-DVD player that did have a port on it (or at least I hope I'm remembering that right).

Yeah baby!  It's Halloween!

I don't remember any HD DVD players come with USB port. At least not on my A3.

I'm fairly certain it does. Look closely at the front. I believe there is a small door you have yet to see.

You guys are correct. It's inside a hidden door. Never knew it was there.

Glad I wasn't completely insane (just partially). I was pretty sure I remembered people hoping for external Blu ray drives to play through their Toshiba HD DVD players... which never happened but was a cool thought!

I agree... but it was a popular rumor for a brief period.

It's right up there with the persistent rumor of Microsoft will add BluRay support to XBox 360 (which is still actively discussed).

I'll be shooting them another mail in a couple of days and focus on the HD DVD/Blu-ray disc playback problems since they likely did overlook those requests in my message.

I'm remember reading somewhere that the 5000 has only 256MB of on board RAM. Not sure where I read it but I am pretty sure that is the spec I saw.

Carl.

It has to be more than that...it is accessing 450MB for the HD DVD Internet content alone.
