I have seen lots of speculation here on the Sammy combo player release date but little recent information on the LG.

The best I can tell, it still looks like sometime this month (October), which would beat the Sammy to market, if true.

Anyone have more current information?

Can you be more specific? I'm very interested to replace my BH100 with this unit as my main HT player.

I have been interested in the Samsung too, but all the delays are bothering me. So I'd be interested in the LG too, if it's early enough, and if the price is right.

If it's not worth waiting until the last minute to do, then it's not worth doing.

KevinVision 7.1 ... Something old and something new :-)

Does anyone know if the BH200 will have forced 1080p 24fps? I have a Crystallio II scaler that I will need to use for anamorphic and the due to HDMI EDID issues, the player will need to be able to force 24p regardless of EDID.

I have read and re-read the article, and I do not see where it says that the “BH200 will be profile 1.1”. The article does say in general that the profile 1.1 feature set is required for a player released after 10/31, and that no manufacturer has released a profile 1.1 player before the deadline, but when the article speaks specifically about the BH200 it only says that it “will include ‘full profile specifications’ for Blu-ray players”. That does not mean that the player will necessarily be limited to profile 1.1.

If you read the LG press release for the BH200 from Sept. 5 it says that the player will have “the capability to handle networked ‘BD-Live’ interactivity in forthcoming Blu-ray discs”. BD-Live is Blu-ray’s name for Profile 2. Profile 2 includes the Profile 1.1 feature set, but is not limited to it.
