Was trying to get secondary audio to play in the enhanced viewing on the Pacific.

Anyone know how?

Maybe run HDMI straight to the TV & optical to the AVR?

Secondary audio is only supported when the player is doing the audio decode, so you will need to set the player to PCM (Bitstream PCM) output or possibly re-encode to get that to work. It's been quite a while since I have messed with that. I know for sure if you have it set for bitstream (audiophile) that it will not transmit the secondary audio.

With the Secondary Audio on, what benefits are there? ...I never use it and I completely forgot what it does.

I agree. Most of my hd-dvd's are 2:35 and work great with my Panamorph len's. I run my hdmi from BD-U5000 to my OPPO 103D/105 hdmi "in" port for best viewing.

You know what; the two HDMI inputs from the Oppo 103 (103D, 105, 105D), including that one on the front panel,
they are some of the best and unique and practical and lovely features ever presented in the entire history of Blu-ray players starting back in 2004 in Japan.
...Eleven years now.

You can plug anything quick (USB In and MHL/HDMI In) there and instantly benefit from the video processor. ...Even 3D.
And! You don't even need a new receiver or SSP, but a legacy one would do, from ten years ago with HDMI inputs, for multichannel uncompressed LPCM high resolution sound.

And speaking of the Duo (HD DVD/Blu-ray combo BD-UP5000 Sammy); not too shabby either with its own Silicon Optix Reon VX-50 video processor chip.

♦ The only thing missing is true HD DVD in 3D. ...Too bad they didn't have the time to make it there.

Ok, it will be dependent of which feature film with what specific feature; like PIP on some of them, now I see.

* A Blu-ray title like 'Sunshine' you don't need to set your player for Secondary Audio; the PIP feature comes up automatically no matter what!
It is the most annoying (FOX) Blu-ray title of my entire hi-def video collection on Blu!

It is so much annoying that I will never re-watch it again (very sad because it's a great flick), and I just don't remember the trick on how to get rid of that PIP feature which is always there even with the Secondary Audio turned Off!

A long time ago I did find the solution to get rid of it, but I don't remember anymore; anyone here who does?
If someone here can tell me how to effectively get rid of that PIP feature from 'Sunshine' on Blu-ray, I might watch it again.

<<•>> Is it by pressing the Audio button on the 5000's remote, and then by pressing it again? ...Some' like that?
