Complete Madness is the first greatest hits album by ska/pop group Madness. It was released in 1982 and included Madness' biggest hits from their first three studio albums and the stand-alone singles. Complete Madness spent 99 weeks on the UK charts peaking at number 1. An accompanying video cassette was also released, containing all thirteen of the group's music videos together with the car commercials they'd done for Honda in Japan. Madness are from Camden Town, London, formed in 1976.

Madness holds the record for most weeks (214) spent by a group in the 1980s UK singles charts. Near the end of 1981, Madness released one of their most recognised songs: a cover of Labi Siffre's 1971 hit "It Must Be Love". In November 1982, they released their fourth studio album, The Rise & Fall, which was well received in the UK, but did not get an American release. Instead, many of its songs were included on the US compilation Madness, including "Our House", which was their most internationally successful single to date.

Rolling Stone was particularly scathing of the ska revival in general, stating that Madness were simply "the Blues Brothers with English accents".

They continue to perform with their most recognised line-up of seven members.

"Something's Going On" was recorded in 1982 by ABBA singer Anni-Frid Lyngstad (Frida).

Recording began in ABBA's Polar Music Studio, Stockholm, in February 1982. As ABBA were unofficially on a break, Lyngstad spent time on her solo project. At the time of recording this song/album, Frida wanted to distance herself from "the typical ABBA pop sound". "I Know There's Something Going On" was written by Russ Ballard and produced by Genesis drummer and singer Phil Collins, who also played drums and backing vocals on the song. Horns courtesy of Earth Wind & Fire. Other songs written by Bryan Ferry, Stephen Bishop, and Phil Collins.

The drum line of Foo Fighters' "Erase/Replace" from their 2007 album Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace was borrowed from this song.
