Age of Man - About Time

From their bandcamp page: Age of Man are an El Dorado (Arkansas)-based rock trio comprised of Matt Benson on lead guitar and vocals, Brandon Borden on drums, and Eric Stone on bass. Their thick and muddy brand of blues-steeped guitar rock is reminiscent of a simpler time, stripped of modern musical conventions and cleverly re-imagined from its very core.

Love the guitar tone and there's a Hammond organ on some tracks.

Ten is the debut studio album by the American rock band Pearl Jam, released on August 27, 1991.

Following the disbanding of bassist Jeff Ament and guitarist Stone Gossard's previous group Mother Love Bone, the two recruited vocalist Eddie Vedder, guitarist Mike McCready, and drummer Dave Krusen to form Pearl Jam in 1990. Most of the songs began as instrumental jams, to which Vedder added lyrics about topics such as depression, homelessness, and abuse.

Mike McCready (born April 5, 1966) purchased his first guitar at age 11. In eighth grade, McCready formed his first band, Warrior, whose name soon changed to Shadow. In 1986, Shadow relocated to Los Angeles and attempted to cut a record deal. In 1988, Shadow returned to Seattle and split up soon afterwards. McCready lost interest in playing guitar for some time, cut his hair, and enrolled in a local community college.

McCready was inspired to pick up his guitar again after attending a Stevie Ray Vaughan concert in George, Washington. McCready said: "As soon as he started "Couldn't Stand the Weather", these huge clouds rolled in overhead, and rain began pouring down. When the song ended, the rain stopped! It was like a religious experience, and it changed me. It lifted me out of the negative mindset I was in, and it got me playing again. I thank him forever for that."

McCready gradually went back to playing guitar and finally joined another band called Love Chile. A childhood friend, Stone Gossard, went to one of the band's shows and appreciated McCready's work after hearing him perform Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Couldn't Stand the Weather". He asked McCready if he wanted to play music together with him. After a few months of practicing together, McCready encouraged Gossard to reconnect with Jeff Ament. This project eventually featured vocalist Eddie Vedder, who had arrived in Seattle to audition for Ament and Gossard's next band, which later became Pearl Jam.

In 2003, the album was ranked number 209 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
Happy 50th birthday, Mike!

Dig Me Out is the third studio album by the American rock band Sleater-Kinney, released on April 8, 1997.

Dig Me Out marked the debut of Janet Weiss, who is the band's longest serving and current drummer. Weiss is highly regarded as a drummer; for example, Stylus Magazine listed her as one of rock's fifty greatest drummers. LA Weekly places her in the top twenty. Weiss was born in Hollywood, California and began playing guitar at the age of 16. Self-taught as a drummer, Weiss learned her technique by watching the drummers at innumerable live shows, and by studying rock and punk greats like John Bonham (Zeppelin) and Topper Headon (Clash). Weiss started playing with Corin Tucker and Carrie Brownstein in Sleater-Kinney in 1996, after seeing them play a show. Tucker and Brownstein then played her a new song they were working on at the time, "Dig Me Out." Her bandmates later said that she made up a beat so solid "you could practically bang your head against it."

Producer John Goodmanson noted: "The awesome thing about having no bass player is you can make the guitars sound as big as you want. Usually you have to clear all that room out for the bass, so you can hear the bass line. With no bass there, you can just go for giant guitar sounds that you wouldn't normally be able to go for".

The album's title was inspired by the fact that the band had to literally dig out the recording studio after a heavy snowstorm that took place in Winter 1996 in Seattle. The album cover is an homage to The Kinks' 1965 album The Kink Kontroversy.

Dig Me Out was ranked number 272 on Rolling Stone's list of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Panorama is the third studio album by American new wave band The Cars, released in 1980.

The record marked a change from the upbeat pop rock and hard rock of the group's previous albums, representing a more aggressive and experimental sound. It was not as commercially successful as The Cars' previous or subsequent albums. However, it did hit #5 on the Billboard 200 chart and has been certified platinum. It includes the single "Touch and Go".
