Double Nickels on the Dime is the third studio album by American punk trio Minutemen, released July 1984.

A double album containing 45 songs, Double Nickels on the Dime combines elements of punk rock, funk, country, spoken word and jazz, and references a variety of themes, from the Vietnam War and racism in America, to working class experience and linguistics. After recording new material, the band each selected songs for different sides of the double album, with the fourth side named "Chaff".

Double Nickels on the Dime is seen not only as Minutemen's crowning achievement, but, according to critic Mark Deming, "one of the very best American rock albums of the 1980s".

The album is ranked at number 413 on Rolling Stone magazine's Best 500 Albums of All Time.

Yes, truly a great loss for Ms. Ronstadt; and for her fans. Thank goodness for recorded media, but how much more could have come? I remember an interview on TV a while back, and she impressed me as a strong person. She was dealing with it.

Trio is a collaboration album by three American performers, Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris, released in 1987.

Longtime friends and admirers of one another, Parton, Ronstadt and Harris first attempted to record an album together in the mid-1970s, but scheduling conflicts and other difficulties (including the fact that the three women all recorded for different record labels) prevented its release.

It spawned four huge Country hit singles - including the Country #1 remake of Phil Spector's 1958 hit by The Teddy Bears, "To Know Him Is To Love Him". The album hit #1 on the US Country album chart. It won the Grammy Award for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.

In 1999, Dolly Parton was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. She has 41 career top 10 country albums, a record for any artist. She has garnered eight Grammy Awards, two Academy Award nominations, ten Country Music Association Awards, seven Academy of Country Music Awards, three American Music Awards.

Linda Ronstadt retired in 2011 and was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in December 2012, which left her unable to sing. She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April 2014.

Emmylou Harris has won 13 Grammys and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2008.

Playin' It Cool is the debut studio solo album by Timothy B. Schmit, the bass guitarist and co-lead vocalist for the Eagles. The album was released in 1984.

The album features guest appearances from Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Steve Lukather (Toto), Carl Wilson (Beach Boys), J.D. Souther, and Rita Coolidge.

AllMusic critic Rob Theakston wrote "The production on several of these tunes sound antiquated in comparison to the super glossed production of the mid eighties; almost reminiscent of Schmit's tunes in the Eagles. It's not the worst of Eagles solo records, but it is certainly nowhere near the best either."
