Thanks Matt/Ken!

Hi hwakin,

Shipping generally runs around $4 +/- for the first album then ~$1 more for each additional album from the same seller, if they have what you want, so it can be cheaper at times to pay a bit more from one seller than just go with the lowest price from multiple sellers where you get hit $4 +/- from each one.

Have fun,

badfinger - wish you where here *was always intrigued with this band as it went from becoming a big success to a complete tragedy . this lp was to be their swan song but eventually became their demise.and the soon after of two of it's members committing suicide. here's a great story of how rock and roll and its dirty deals killed many of promising acts.

Really nice and very well recorded Dutch jazz. Found on Tidal while listening to Calefax Reed Quintet. He plays with them on an album I've yet to listen to of later Duke Ellington suites.

American VI: Ain't No Grave is an album by Johnny Cash, released posthumously on February 23, 2010.

Its release was three days prior to what would have been Cash's 78th birthday. The album's music was recorded during the same sessions as American V: A Hundred Highways (2006) that took place during the final months of Cash's life.

The Washington Post's Bill Friskics-Warren wrote that the album presents Cash as "an unwavering man of faith" and noted a "spiritual, even biblical quality to the record". MSN Music's Robert Christgau called the album "both the grimmest and the most hopeful" of "those nearness-of-death albums".

Paid in Full is the debut album of American hip hop duo Eric B. & Rakim, released on July 7, 1987.

The album produced five singles, "Eric B. Is President", "I Ain't No Joke", "I Know You Got Soul", "Move the Crowd", and "Paid in Full".

Paid in Full is credited as a benchmark album of golden age hip hop. Rakim's rapping, which pioneered the use of internal rhymes in hip hop, set a higher standard of lyricism in the genre and served as a template for future rappers. The album's heavy sampling by Eric B. became influential in hip hop production.

Rakim wrote his songs in approximately one hour while listening to the beat. He then recorded his vocals in the booth by reading his lyrics from a paper. In 2006, Rakim revealed, "When I hear my first album today I hear myself reading my rhymes but I'm my worst critic."

"Eric B. Is President" was released as the first single and sparked debate on the legality of unauthorized sampling when James Brown sued to prevent the duo's use of his music. According to The New York Times, "It is Rakim's verbal dexterity as well as his calm, deep voice and dark tone that has made this song a rap classic: 'I came in the door/ I said it before/ I'll never let the mic magnetize me no more/ But it's bitin' me/ Fightin' me/ Invitin' me to rhyme/ I can't hold it back/ I'm looking for the line/ Takin' off my coat/ Clearin' my throat/ The rhyme will be kickin' it/ Til I hit my last note.'"

MTV ranked it at number one in "The Greatest Hip-Hop Albums of All Time".

The album was ranked number 228 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

Quote:
Rain Dogs is the eighth album by American singer-songwriter Tom Waits, released in September 1985.

A loose concept album about "the urban dispossessed" of New York City, Rain Dogs is generally considered the middle album of a trilogy that includes Swordfishtrombones and Franks Wild Years.

The album, which includes appearances by guitarists Keith Richards and Marc Ribot, is noted for its broad spectrum of musical styles and genres, described by Rolling Stone as merging "Kurt Weill, pre-rock integrity from old dirty blues, [and] the elegiac melancholy of New Orleans funeral brass, into a singularly idiosyncratic American style."

A wide range of instruments were employed to achieve the album's sound, including marimba, accordion, double bass, trombone, and banjo, indicating the many different musical directions spread across Rain Dogs. Coming as it did in the mid 1980s—when most musicians depended on synthesizers, drum machines, and studio techniques to create their music—the album is notable for its organic sound, and the means by which it was achieved. Waits also stated that "if we couldn't get the right sound out of the drum set we'd get a chest of drawers in the bathroom and bang it real hard with a two-by-four," such that "the sounds become your own."

The album was ranked number 397 on the magazine's list of "The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time".
