The Beatles

We live in a society exquisitely dependent on science and technology, in which hardly anyone knows anything about science and technology.

"John Coltrane: Classic Trane" 3 CD set, featuring Miles Davis, Red Garland, Paul Chambers, Lee Morgan (and others)

Listening to the 3rd CD now. Classic jazz.

That Dark Star Orchestra concert was great last night. They reproduced the set
list from the 2nd night at Red Rocks 1978.

I was surprised at how authentic they sounded to that period... Quite surprised! That means a lot coming from someone as picky as I am who has a very good ear for music...

That is one sweet Other One on the last concert I posted... My first show as well! Of course, I really don't remember much of it.

The bus came by and I got on that's where it all began...

It took us a few hours of forgetting we were looking for our ride home and remembering we were looking for our ride home before we finally found our ride home and went home that night. Or at least it seemed like a few hours...

Metallica - And Justice For all, again. This is'nt they're best overall cd (but in my top 5), but best recording imo. And the hard hitting chiff from the kick drum in One is just fanfuggintastic. Can listen to it over and over again.

I agree from a production standpoint, AJFA is their best. Some of the more hardcore fans criticized the album of being too much of a studio recording, but it is probably my favorite. But then recording quality is a strong factor in my decision making these days.

Odetta - Livin' with the Blues

Gonna miss her - I remember back in 1963 and one of my first dates (sombody's parents had to drive us) was the night before the March on Washington and seeing Odetta, Peter, Paul & Mary and Peter Nero at the Carter Barron ampitheater in Rock Creek Park. I have been listening to Odetta ever since.
