Ritchie who??? Just kidding of course, but in fact I love CTTB, Tommy Bolin was fabulous.

Bringing Hughes in (from Trapeze) added an element of funk that was more prominent on 'Stormbringer' (- isn't that the album that made Ritchie leave?) CTTB further explored the funkier, bluesier side of Purple. As much as I like the S/T, 'In Rock' and MH, 'Burn' and CTTB are my faves.

What you got back home, little sister, to play your fuzzy warbles on? I bet you got little save pitiful, portable picnic players. Come with uncle and hear all proper! Hear angel trumpets and devil trombones. You are invited.

If you like streaming - we still have an all-night Jazz thing here on WUSF

And a public station run by people - WMNF - the content is quite variable depending on the show schedule, local volunteer DJs.

I'll be back later...

New York/New Jersey has WBGO (88.3) as a jazz station, but the content here is also variable.
