Guitarist / bassist / songwriter Jan Zachariassen has a past from the Faroe Islands, but has lived in Malmö for a number of years. With the newly released CD "Shine", he delivers this well produced lovely reclining slick jazz with westcoast-touch that sometimes hovers dreamily rocking and sometimes even with the just right gospel touch.
CD "Shine", Jan Zachariassen worked with for a number of years, but now it's FINALLY here! CD has been mixed by the renowned frequently hired Danish from the Faroe Islands grew up producer Oli Poulsen (Michael Ruff, Hanne Boel, Michael Learns To Rock plus many, many, many more) and is mostly instrumental with acoustic hovering nicely soft feathery layered with beautifully soft skilled electric guitar play by Jan Zachariassen in the bottom that makes one think of eg type guitarists Jonathan Butler, George Benson, Acoustic Alchemy and maybe even a tad Larry Carlton. But there is also singing on some of the tracks. The title song "Shine" for example, sung by Regin Guttesen (Feb Zachariassen's old friend from the Faroe Islands and who now lives in Italy) - a singer that I can never get enough of! Regin Guttesen also plays keyboards on a lot of the CD. The song "Shine" is nicely arranged and beautifully blower arrangement and groovy gospel-like backing vocals. "Do You Believe In Love" also features the groovy gospel choir and beautiful horns. "Mother's Heart" is an incredibly beautiful creeping instrumental ballad that is a tribute to Jan Zachariassen's parents with wonderfully saxofonlir by Mark Douthit (such as lirat with artists type Michael McDonald, David Foster, Larry Carlton, Peter Cetera, Whitney Houston and the greater part of the larger American famous religious artists). "You Were There" is sung by the talented Linda Petersen. The song "Argir" is Jan Zachariassen's instrumental beautiful tribute to the society in the Faroe Islands where he was born. CD's eleven glorious swinging beautiful track gets you really enjoy. Listen to these clips: A few short smakbprov the songs from the CD: . Sure the hell is well this good?!
