bought it off the bay a few weeks ago, it was just delivered today. it was advertised as near mint-

and it is!

i washed it, dried it, played it, nary a click or pop; also made cassette copy.
may make a reel to reel copy also.

after playing i put it in a plastic sleeve.
the jacket's in good shape-need to order more sleeves and jacket covers.

edit-but it's so short!-~27 minutes total. both sides.

Earth - "Radio/Live"
Big Black - "Songs About ****ing"
Miles Davis - "In a Silent Way"
Wolves in the Throne Room - "Black Cascade"

My turntable's been giving me grief, though. It's an automatic turntable, and it seems determined to keep me on my toes by starting as if it were going to play the record, then not drop the needle and go back to the off position. Fun!

gerry raffertys' 'city to city' and the moodies, 'the other side of life' LPs at a local hospice thrift store about 2 weeks ago.
very good condition, $1 each.

also, off 'bay, LP of oslo philharmonic orch. perfoming grofes' 'grand canyon suite'.
bought this to rerecord the first side of a factory recorded reel to reel tape of same material that had dropouts.?

Got this on e-bay to add to the collection. I have a copy I listen to. This one is getting framed for the wall. Still has the 5.00 price sticker on it!

westgate:

Keep your eyes peeled for jazz Pablo vinyl, preferably early pressings done by RCA. They are out there and not extremely expensive.

They are easy to spot. High contrast B&W photography on the covers. Particularly good stuff from Ben Webster, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Art Tatum. Some is stereo, some is mono, but the mono is fabulous. Generally produced by Norman Granz.

Audiophile quality sound. "Basie Jam" and Ellington and Ray Brown's "This One's for Blanton" are particularly legendary. In fact, I think I'll listen to the Ellington right now.

Recorded Dec-Jan '58-'59. Mastering by Doug Sax. Analogue Productions 180g reissue.
w/ Bill Evans, Herbie Mann, Kenny Burrell, Paul Chambers, etc.

Sounds newly recorded. It's clean and present.
Wonderful, dreamy ballads.

Wow!

Last record I bought was a while ago. Just got a new phono stage so I will be buying a lot of vinyl soon.

I think the last one I bought though was Mike Watt "Ballhog or Tugboat" on colored vinyl.

Last CD I bought was just a few days ago. I finally found "Live Phish Vol.13" The one with the entire cover of the beatles white album.

recently got Less Than Jake's Hello Rockview album on pink 12"

not the best quality (like the cd, leaves a bit to be desired), but it certainly adds to that DIY punk/ska basement show vibe. dont really listen to much punk or ska anymore, but its always fun to give a spin just to bring back great memories. im sure we all have "one of those"

now i just need a turntable again...
