Very nice vintage equipment! That set-up reminds me a bit of my dad's 1970's vintage Technics system.

There was some nice stuff made in the 1970's.

Here is my new setup. Vandersteen 3a signatures with carver 5.2 center and surrounds. Not a bad match! Amp marantz sr4200 that could use an upgrade

Spydah, I really dig the mid century look! Where did you find that credenza? It's beautiful. I'm looking to do something similar. Complements to the interior designer, great taste.

Thanks, MG. I've had more than one person tell me it reminds them of their Dad's system growing up. I like the look & feel of the classic 70's gear. Sadly I don't listen to it as often as I should. Spending too much time in the HT.

Nothing as glamorous as some of you guys have (absolutely beautiful setups), but here's my DIY AMB M³ amp (unbalanced inputs, balanced outputs) powered by a pair of DIY AMB σ11 PSU's. Everything (except the cirquit boards) is handmade.

Yes it was a good move. I recently attended an Auralex seminar at a local dealer. I have seen this particular photo somewhere before, and brought it up to the representative. I'll have to email it to her, I bet she will get a kick out of it.

Turntable;

Marantz 6200 with an Audio Technica AT90 Cartridge mounted in a Marantz headshell. - This turntable was manufactured between 1976 - 1978. I replaced the belt and will eventually have to replace the needle. But for now, I simply enjoy spinning the wax.

Receiver;

Marantz 2252B - This was manufactured between 1977 - 1979. This beast is rated at 52x2 @ 8 ohms 65x2 @ 4 ohms of tube like power. I really like the look, feel and sound of this piece.

Speakers;

Pioneer HPM-100 - These are a 4 way, 4-speaker Bass-Reflex loudspeaker system designed by Bart Locanthi and his team of ex-JBL engineers who designed the famous L100, 4311/12 JBLs and then went to work for Pioneer. These beauties were manufactured between 1976 - 1977.

*Not sure I like the cabinet. But it fits the vintage look, I think. Keeping my eyes open for something else that might grab me.

nice i love vintage

My living room, which has been my 2 channel listening room for many years, was recently renovated into a projection-based home theater room. But I ensured I could still enjoy 2 channel listening. I tend to go through various speakers. Right now I have some Hales transcendence speakers doing L/C/R and some 2 channel listening, but I also throw in these guys which I picked up earlier in the year. I always wanted to own an MBL speaker. These were the ones I could afford (second hand). MBL 121 omnidirectional speakers:

They are an amazing combination of effortless resolution, tonal richness and amazing imaging.

Amazing looking speakers and theatre BTW, your MLBs are omni Directional yes.. I have been to the MBL site before after coming accross pic of The MBL 101 X-treme & wondering what /how they worked..

When you went from 2 channel to HT surround did you make any preference to your listning enviroment /room Acoustics towards 2 channel/HT or somewhere in the middel..

Cheers...

I read somewhere awhile back about how you pieced your system/room/furnishings together. Very impressive... you are holding back in this thread!

LOL.......the original thread request was for the stereo setup only. The rest of my listening room (aka mancave) consists of Usher Be-718's, Epik Empire, Woo Audio WA6 and other bits of gadgetry geekness.

Desk area that contains an overclocked HTPC, iPad, subwoofer (aka laser printer stand), etc:

Headphone desk (WA6 with custom wood trim, Logitech 1100 (controls everything) and AKG 702's:

Speakers:

My "back-up" man cave with Emotiva gear, XM radio and 2.1 speaker setup. I just finished building acoustic panels:

That garage is way too clean. We need to stage an intervention. Or let my kids have the run of it for about an hour.

It's okay. I am too, but my efforts are continuously frustrated by the other five people in the house.
