My Jolida runs 4 Sovtek 6650's not to mention the preamp tubes. It's nice and toasty nearby after a while. I've seen some of those large ARC amps and they must put out lots of BTU's.

Was using the Pioneer SX-780 while the Sansui was in for service...

While a good unit, sonically it simply is not in the same league as the 7500. Great mid-range and bass however.

As with all the photos of your set up I'm thinking "weird ergonomics." I've never had or have seen equipment on or near the floor - especially a TT. There's a reason I suppose....just can't think of one.....

The closer to the floor the more solid the foundation. I rack all my gear as low as it goes. I do that to clear the space between the speakers for best sound. So far at 62 I can still get down on the floor (getting up is a different story, lol).

I too have been on this planet for 62 years and not about to squat/lie on the floor to go through the basic functions in order to listen to music. A receiver on the floor gives the best sound? After a few adult beverages I may be there but am not in any condition to operate audio gear. I uncouple my TT(s) to the best of my ability short of having to squat/lie/fall down use its functions. What ever floats y'alls boat........

that in all of your 62 years, you've never "seen equipment on or near the floor"..

You're in luck for this is called "AVS Forum" so more than likely there are plenty pics with a similar setup or just try searching this internet thing, I am not the first to do it.

You "hippies" and the floor thing. LOL I'm 48 and the only time I am on the floor is to play with my niece or after a few to many social beverages. All kidding aside, it has to do with stability on a solid foundation and the reduced vibrations. I understand the principals but sometimes a little convenience is nice too.

Here a couple poorly-taken pictures of my 2-channel (bedroom) setup.

Equipment listed in my signature, but for the sake of being complete:

Speakers:
Sonus faber Toy towers
REL S/5 subwoofer

Integrated Amp:
Sony TA-A1ES

DAC:
Teac UD-501

Sources:
Sony UBP-X800 UHD player
Sony ST-SA50ES stereo tuner
Sony SCD-777ES CD/SACD player
Sonos Connect
Apple TV (3rd gen)

Display:
Sony 43" XBR-X800D 4K HDR TV

Power:
Panamax MR4300
Furman Elite-15 PFi

Interconnects (please don't hurt me):
Most everything run with Audioquest cables
Type 4 speaker wire
Digital Audio: Forest and Cinnamon optical, Forest and Carbon coax into DAC
Yukon balanced XLR out from DAC into integrated amp
Sydney RCA

Next addition is a new turntable in the next few months.

I don't have it in the audio rack yet but I will have it soon. I'll post a pic when I get it set up. I'll have to bump the Acurus from it's long-time perch but I think it will be worth it! It's a VTA STA-120 - 60wpc. I think I might like it!

That pic comes straight from the tubes4hifi website. You can do this with any picture. Put the mouse over the picture you want to put into your post - left click and hold the mouse button down and drag the picture up to the location bar. You should now have just that one picture in your browser window. Double click (left button) on the location bar to turn it a solid color - mine is orange since I use Linux - do a right click to get your context menu and select copy. Go to the post you want to insert the image into and right click and paste it into the text window. Double left click on the link you just pasted into your post - go up to the text editor where the 'insert image' icon is and click on it - a small insert box pops up. Right click over the URL bar and paste the location of the pic and hit 'ok'. Once you post your message you'll see a full sized image. If you post a picture from your computer you can't do a full size image AFAIK.

Direct link the image from an external hosing site versus uploading them in the reply post window. You have to use [IMG] tags to do it.

Ignore the "spaces" I put in below but if I don't it won't show. You do it like this...

Thanks, guys! I can't get over the detail and clarity of these things. They are bright compared to my ADS L1530's, but not to the point of being fatiguing. I'm looking forward to getting some more listening time. I'm thinking DSOTM tonight.

Going back to the TT on the floor , wouldn't static build up from the carpet be a potential problem ?

That looks like the stand I built with some all threads and plywood (the good stuff).

Question. I am looking at your TT and it looks as if it's levitating or only have 1 or 2 feet. Am I seeing it correctly?

Yep, It's a DIY rack. Easy to build and very stable. The angle of the photo makes it look like the TT is levitating. It has three Michael Lim iso feet, but the one in the back can't bee seen in the photo.

Though all the fixins for home theater are present, it is often used for two channel listening. At times I bypass the A/V receiver and go direct from Oppo 93 to my Crown K2 power amp, which is sitting bottom left. Also at times, I bypass receiver and amp and use my Topping TP32EX digital T-amp, which you see lit up on the bottom shelf which is either fed from the Oppo or my Logitech Squeezebox Touch. Grills off just for the pic. Klipsch Epic CF3's.
