Just got this today.. only got about 45 min on it before the wife came home, but definitley liking what I'm hearing to start. will do some listening comparisons between it and my B&K/parasound pre/power which I am replacing b/c I just want a more simple system. Did mostly vinyl listening tonight.. nice and enjoyable but no actual critical listening.

I realize this thread is really old but reading Fast Orange's comparison of the Music Hall a15.2 and Marantz PM 5004 I am really curious which of the two has the better phono stage. I want an affordable amp for vinyl and I was pretty set on the Marantz until reading about the music hall. Can anyone speak to this?

I can't speak to the differences, but I do like the Music Hall phono section though I don't have anything to compare it to, and I would say its a good chance its better than the marantz.. as Roy Hall also designs his own TT and so i would think that he would put a decent phono stage in the amp since he obviously is going to want you to buy his TT as well..

I certainly did enjoy it. Sold it after a year and a half though. Sold my whole 2 channel setup and Instead put the money into my theater. I'd still recommend the MH any day though.

the unit apparently "makes music" which is great. but I am looking forward to seeing what the a15.3 has to offer. hopefully for a couple bells and whistles. like sub out and a dac.

Agreed. A sub-out would be great. That's one thing I really wish it had. DAC would be nice too, but I don't see them doing that.
