Need help with oppo 95 dedicated stereo outputs. I have the player connected directly to my Emotiva amplifier using the XLR outputs. In the audio set up, I am not sure which stereo priority I should be using, front Rt/Lt or down-mix stereo in order to utilize the dedicated stereo DAC. One thing I have noticed is that the volume is slightly higher when the priority is set to down-mixed stereo. The manual states that original stereo is not affected by down-mixed stereo, but does not mention which is preferred for dedicated stereo listening. I would appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks in advance!

I'm sure you'll get help here, but I'd also suggest emailing Oppo's customer service...they are very responsive and helpful. I had an issue with my 93 that ended up being a firmware issue. They had me diagnosed and up and running in no time.

I answered your same question in the oppo thread. Do nothing, XOR automatically down mixed.

Are you seriously going from the Oppo straight to the amps? No pre-amp or avr? I didn't know that was possible!

It is possible, I've listened to the exact same setup OP mentioned elsewhere, and it sounded OK at best.

It works great given you power amp has high enough input impedance, usually >20 kohms. To use it you need to have your oppo volume on variable and change it with the oppo remote. Previous oppo models like the 83 had trouble with this set up, but the 95 works like a charm. Some people may not like this since they are used to the coloration introduced by the preamps. Personally I do feel that the oppo sounds a little to bright directly into an emotiva amp. However, this set up should still be optimal theoretically, again considering you amp has high enough impedance to avoid roll off at the bottom end of the frequency

You can set the stereo signal to stereo only or FR/FL. Some do use the xlr in a multi-channel setup and use fr/fl. make sure it is set to stereo only. See oppo manual p. 74.

I have been doing this since I got my 95 a year ago into my tube mono block amp's and the sound is great.
