"Even with my DX100 , I did not get such clarity and sound-stage.
I am happier with this setup, than the DX100, alas, no 96/24 capability (android limitation...for now)
Neutron with the Glacier, are giving me the chills............................ "

thats an awesome IEM rig - my ears would crumble from an external amp with my CIEMS...I plugged them into a AudioDG amp once...it went from 0 to ear bleeding with about 1/100th of a turn of the volume knob heh.

REW...most expensive freeware ever...

Are you sure of your USB OTG cable?
You should test it with a simple USB peripheral like a USB mouse.

To connect a Galaxy Note 2 to a FiiO E7 USB DAC, you can use:

. a combination of two cables: a USB OTG adapter cable + a regular USB cable provided by the USB DAC manufacturer:
.. a USB OTG adapter cable: micro-A plug to standard-A receptacle USB cable (micro-A plug to be inserted into a Galaxy Note 2)
http://cgi.ebay.fr/1ft-OTG-On-The-Go-Micro-USB-OTG-Cable-Samsung-i9100-Galaxy-Note-SII-XOOM-Nexus-7-/251098049983?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3a769c2dbf&clk_rvr_id=439657759555
.. a regular USB cable: standard-A plug to mini-B plug USB cable (mini-B plug to be inserted into a FiiO E7)

or

. a single cable: micro-A plug to mini-B plug USB OTG cable.

A micro-A plug is a regular micro-B plug where the pin 4 is connected to the pin 5.

Make your own USB OTG cable – Simple:

It worked with the E7 but it doesn't work with the E07. I have three OTG cables and the mouse works on all of them but not the Fiio E07.

Do you test the Galaxy Note2 – FiiO E7 interworking with the USB Audio Recorder PRO?

The FiiO E7 is on the list of working audio devices.

Could you provide a dmesg log output? It should be interesting to know what is going on between the Galaxy Note 2 and the FiiO E07K at the kernel level?

. Download the free Android Terminal Emulator from Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jackpal.androidterm&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDMsImphY2twYWwuYW5kcm9pZHRlcm0iXQ

. Open the Terminal Emulator and type
dmesg > /sdcard/d [do not click “Enter”]

. Connect your Galaxy Note 2 to the FiiO E07K via a USB OTG cable

. On the Terminal Emulator, click “Enter”

[that should get you a dmesg log file "d" in the sdcard folder.]

A dmesg output:

What type of usb cable are you using? I'm not sure if I bought the right one, I'm trying to have the same set up as you, but I can't find that cord anywhere. Help?

Your Galaxy Note2 and my stock French Galaxy S3 don’t have the same access rights on Android.

I think you have to root your Galaxy Note2 in order to use Dmesg.

By the way, what is the carrier of your Galaxy Note2?

Ok here is some weirdness. I had my E07 plugged in to my work computer and was listening to some songs through it. I found a USB standard to USB mini cable in my office and decided to try it out. Hooked it up like this Note 2 > OTG > USB > E07 and it worked!

So I then decided to try the cable it came with and nothing. I went back to the cable that it worked with and nothing.

WTF!
