Hi, I am just now getting back into the vinyl scene after a 30 sabbatical, and, I need your valuable input re three options I am considering. For now am excluding cables, cartridges and other such niceties...just focusing on a basic setup for venturing back into the music arena.

Of the options listed below, what are your comments? Advice will be graciously accepted and factored into my final buying decision.

Option No. 1
Power Amp: Butler TDB 2250
Stereo Preamp: Parasound P3
Table: ProJect RPM5.1SE, w/Speed Box II
Phono Amp: AQVOX Phono 2CI Mk. II
Speakers: Ohm Walsh 3000

Option No. 2
Power Amp: W4S ST-500 Stereo (ST-500)
Stereo Preamp: STP-SE (Stereo Pre-amp SPECIAL EDITION) (STP-SE)
Table: ProJect RPM5.1SE w/Speed Box II
Phono Amp: AQVOX Phono 2CI Mk. II
Speakers: Ohm Walsh 3000

Option No. 3
Power Amp: MINI MC 7 CH (MMC-7) - Multi-Channel Amplifier when I eventually add Home Theater to the mix.
Stereo Preamp: STP-SE (Stereo Pre-amp SPECIAL EDITION) (STP-SE)
Table: ProJect RPM5.1SE, w/Speed Box II
Phono Amp: AQVOX Phono 2CI Mk. II
Speakers: Ohm Walsh 3000

Thanks for your help.

I have heard bad things about the Parasound P3, avoid it if you can. Wyred has some pretty good stuff but I'd check to see how others have found it performs with your speakers of choice. Others have experienced excellent bass control with the Wyred amps, which have very high damping specs.

I have no idea what those amplifiers and preamps sound like, except for the Parasound, which I doubt would give you the kind of sound you are looking for. The Butler 2250 is certainly intriguing.

I can highly recommend the Musical Fidelity M3i integrated amplifier, which runs around $1500. It has really nice sound for the money.

I can also highly recommend the Vincent SP-331 power amplifier ($1300) and the SP-31 preamp ($650), which is the best preamp I know of for under $2000! They were both Product of the Year selections by The Absolute Sound. Both of these produce sound quality that is quite amazing for their prices.

I am currently using an Audio Research LS-26 preamp and Bryston 3B-SST power amplifier, which gives sound to die for, but the cost will be over $10k at current prices.
