You didn't say what you would be using these for, mostly. Music?

Time to resurrect this thread.

The SVS SB2000's are going back.

I am thinking maybe a single sub, ported?

For movies double subs are not needed, correct or?

What you got back home, little sister, to play your fuzzy warbles on? I bet you got little save pitiful, portable picnic players. Come with uncle and hear all proper! Hear angel trumpets and devil trombones. You are invited.

I agree with this for a music focused rig. This plus 2 smaller subs has always produced the most coherent and transparent sound in my experience. I don't listen to music at home theater reference levels. Even if I did, music doesn't tend to have as much bass and my speakers have no problem running full range.

I kind of changed it up. Although this will be used mostly for music it's the movie sounds I want to concentrate on in this system.

There are other reasons to use subs and multiples of subs. I have three in my media room; this was done before I read this. Maybe hang out in the subwoofer forum for a few - there's lots of good info there.

Do you mean you disagree and two subs for movies does offer benefit?

I do not know what sub-forums you hang out in, here, eljr, but for someone who has been here at AVS for a while and has a significant number of both posts and 'thumb's ups', frankly, I was surprised to see that line of questioning/reasoning. You are demonstrating a lack of understanding or a misunderstanding of (at least) 2 things:

1. The usefulness of dual "stereo subwoofers" for music reproduction
2. The usefulness of more than one subwoofer

#2 is one of then most well-discussed (an even dogmatic) topics you will find, here, in ANY sub-forum at AVS.

Thanks for the insulting follow up.
