I have caught the bug to try my hand/ears to a turntable again and am considering the Rega RP3.

I have a "spare" preamp the Mark Levinson 38 that I am thinking of having a small 2 channel system in my home office. How do I check if it has a phono stage or not - I have not got the turntable yet to test it ?

It does not have a phono stage.

You would need to buy a dedicated phono stage to use with it.

I am using the Musical Fidelity V-LPS, which is only $200, and it is excellent.

The easiest way to determine if you have a phono stage on a preamp or receiver is you'll find a grounding terminal for your TT on the back of your unit.smile.gif
