I currently own a technics SL-Q33 and love getting my collection started. But recently been eying the SL-1300 mk2 that someone has for sale near me (for a really attractive price of 60 bucks). Could that 60 be better spend on new vinyl? Or should i give it a whirl? going from belt to direct could be cool also the 1300 allows for more control and upgrades it seems.
Thoughts?

For $60, how can you go wrong?

I'm under the impression that the SL-Q33 has a tone arm that takes only P-mount cartridges, while I know that the SL-1300 takes conventional cartridges.

I'd much rather have an arm that takes a wider variety of cartridges because they are one of or the most important SQ feature of a LP playback system.
