That helps. Are you looking for another media player or would a blu-ray player work? Many of last year's models and the new gen players offer external HD connectivity. For media players I would check out Popcorn Hour and Dune.
Well, not so good news from Dune forum. Gapless issues, poor UI...
Seems (all of them?) media players focus more on video, leaving no room for an elegant and efficient music playback solution?
Post your questions over in the Netgear NeoTV 550 thread. There are some very knowledgeable people posting there. – It does gapless audio playback (but not for .wav files).
I recently got a NTV550 to stream music from a computer to my HT/Music setup, but you can also directly connect a USB (and/or eSata) HD to it. I’m not an expert on this product, and it’s the only “media streamer” with which I have any experience, but after some initial, minor setup hiccups, I’m extremely happy with it. – And for $80 at J&R right now, for my purpose, it's been a really fabulous deal.
FWIW > It’s been discontinued. (Thus, the $80 price.) No Pandora, Mog or Spotify. YouTube doesn’t really work. Etc.
