I'm looking at one of these for a friend who really wants to keep it. It has developed a "HUM" that is intermittent. I just recieved the service manual for it but was hoping someone here might have had one with the same problem. The manual doesn't go much deeper then full board replacement and that's not going to happen. Given it's age, I'm anticipating it should get a full electrolytic capacitor swap out

Current owner of the last/best AmPro on the planet. The mighty 4600HD, and it's still running...better than Barco's, especially southern ones.

I would suspect a bad, oxidized connection somewhere, particularly anywhere that jumper leads are used between boards or terminals.

I would go through and inspect everything and remove and reinstall any mechanical connections of that type.

A bad capacitor is possible, but Classe uses premium quality components and that would not be my first place to go unless you can see excess hum with a scope on the power-supply output.

That is easy for any tech to identify.
