I just picked up my first Turntable. A Rega RP1 from Audio Concepts in Dallas. I also just picked up a few used records from Half Priced Books. Enjoying some Three Dog Night right now.

Nice starter TT. Rega makes quality gear at reasonable prices. What is the cart and phono in your setup?smile.gif

Rega recently released a new cartridge that they are now including with the RP1. It's called the Rega Carbon. Here's the specs from their site.
Quote:
The Carbon

Output: 2.5mV at 1kHz
Stylus: User replaceable.
Fixing: Standard, two screws
Cantilever: Carbon
Colour: Black/White

As for the rest of the system, I'm using the built in phono stage on my HK 3490 running to a pair of B&W 602 S1's with a Velodyne DPS-10 sub.

In case your interested, here's my record list for now.

Experience Hendrix: The Best of Jimi Hendrix
America: A horse with no name
Van Morrison: Wavelength
Three Dog Night: It ain't easy
Alabama: My Home's in Alabama

Hopefully you've got some used Record Stores around. A nice inexpensive way to build up your collection.smile.gif

Yeah, I have a Half Priced Books just around the corner. I love it cause if I don't like the record I can just take it back.
