To you.

If the purchasers hear an audible difference that's important to them, that's not true.

Denon has decent but far from the best analog sections in their gear, most of which could be improved but not at the component or design level and still allow Denon to meet their targeted price points.

It's not about noise exclusively, but rather the character of the analog section and its effect on the delivered audio; unless the device is delivering nothing but a pure data stream, odds are the analog section could be tweaked.

At what cost and to what sonic effect is the matter open for debate.

people make a lot of money in upgrades for alot of electronics of all manufacturers. ..do they actually do something?
Some might, some probably do and some just wrap rf reflection tape on wires and coat caps in goo...I'm leary of anyone who won't tell you exactly what they did and what exactly they did to make it better than stock...it's not magic, you wouldn't buy a car from someone who tells you if you pop the hood you void the warranty would you?
Some places actually tell you that and if you post pictures they threaten lawsuits and will even try to hack your accounts to silence you...I'm not talking about anyone in particular....just saying that you are gambling when you get into bed with a too good to be true outfit

To keep it brief - Dead is an overstatement, but it has clearly become a solely esoteric class of audio, for an ever dwindling market place.

I've lost my hair, but I haven't lost my mind!

I have noticed that the high end brands have either been absorbed by multinational conglomerates, gone out of business or gone extremely high end or started to offer some lower priced products to compete with the higher level of the Japanese Market(USA and Canada companies)

Yes, like D'Agostino when he was ousted from Krell.

Nothing wrong with extremely high end; IMHO as with cars they push the state of the art in what's possible.

D'Agostino's are actually rather reasonably priced components for the very high end compared to some other brands like Boulder and Constellation Audio, both of whose flagship monoblock amps retail in the $150K range and whose "midrange" stereo amps retail for $55K or so.

To me that's no different from Ferrari's $1M+ offerings.

That is true kucharsk, but then again, I don't need a Ferrari to drive down the Blue Route or Schuylkill Expressway as Imagic knows!

True, just as I can certainly enjoy listening to MP3s from an iPod.

It's just a matter of I would enjoy it more on a high-end system, just as driving a Porsche down an empty freeway is orders of magnitude more satisfying than making the same trip in a Camry.

A used Mercedes will do too, which is what my 2 channel system consists of. The only products purchased new are the speakers and a usb dac.

This could never happen on the Schuylkill Expressway.

Hmm, cereal or Cereal? For the former, wild rice. For the latter, Raisin Nut Bran. Why?

...Cereals (morning breakfast). ...Just checking your taste in hi-end Cereals. ...And see if they would become obsolete. ...Mine is Raisin Bran too, without Nut.

* Just simple good humor.
